Website Income - July 2007
By Max | August 2, 2007
Sorry about the lack of posts lately guys. I have been overwhelmed at my day job with work. I am actually traveling up here in Portland. It’s hard to post regularly when you are out of town.
Anyway I wanted to update you on the July earnings. I am pleased once again. This time Counterstrike really boosted things up for me.
Google Adsense: $2748.65 - I had one person download Google Earth and that paid me $2!
TribalFusion: $1355.27
Kontera: $451.11
ValueClick: $76.57
AuctionAds: $86.09
Direct Ad Sales: $20.00
The Grand Total this month is $4737.69. That’s over $1000 more than I made last month. I actually made less than last month because the newly added CounterStrike site accounted for more than the difference between last month and this month. The likely reason for the slight drop in earnings from the older sites is slower traffic in the summer.
On one positive not, my mixed drinks site is starting to get some google traffic which has really helped. I have literally not touched this site since about December. Traffic has been up and down during the last few months, but it has always made a little money, and I am impressed with how little work has been required in maintaining it. All my other sites require at least a little attention.

Congratulations on your progress. I was wondering where you had been. I have visited the mixed drink site form time to time for ideas.
The issues AuctionAds had with down time and relevant ads hurt me last month. Traffic wise it was my biggest month by far in my short five month history. My ctr from auctionads dropped to .54% from nearly 2%. It is back on the rise in the first two days this month though.

Yeah, I think Auction Ads is undergoing some real growth right now, and they have had server issues. I also think this contributed to my slower AA earnings despite having many more impressions this month.
As far as your AA CTR, you should try playing around with the keywords. You can put keywords in rotation too. A lower CTR might not be too bad if you can sell higher priced stuff to your audience. I have found though the big money in AA is a new ebay user signup. Those are worth $25 a pop. Unfortunately I didn’t get any last month.

Well done, it would be nice to have a extra 5 grand every month. I’ve started a couple of projects and just started on that WebmasterLinkSales site….

How many pageviews do you need to get those $1355.27 from Tribal fusion?

Hey Max, I have a design up at the moment if you get a chance, have a look and tell me what you think. www.webmasterlinksales.com

Great job, Max. I’d like to see how everything works out when or if you put the site up for sale and find out how much you can earn from it.

Jason,
I get about 135,000 ad impressions per day from the three sites. My eCPM rate is pretty low for this type of advertising. If I sought out direct advertisers, I could probably do quite a bit better, but I would have trouble selling all my inventory.
I would like to find higher paying CPM options though.

Hmm…I really need to stop reading and start doing!
