Adding Kontera - Counter Strike Update

By Max | July 11, 2007

Last night I placed the Kontera codes on the Counter Strike site. For my other site, Kontera has been running at about 30-50% of adsense. It hasn’t greatly impacted adsense earnings however, and thats the nice thing. It does make me wonder though, how many clicks on Kontera are legitimate advertisement interest versus misclicks. If Kontera’s performance on my Counter Strike site is 30% of my Adsense, I’ll be pretty happy. A lot of people knock Kontera for being annoying. I actually don’t think its that annoying once you are used to not hovering over the double line links. Also the people who say that the ads bother them, don’t click on ads anyway. Now thats annoying!

Tribal Fusion still hasn’t gotten back to me, so I’ll probably have to call them.

I have been to some sits that have so much Kontera links on the page that you can’t hardly scroll to read it. I just go to another site when that happens. I read several sites on a regular basis and I don’t have that problem, just on some does it bug me. I checked out your site and I didn’t get stopped on the scroll down the page.

The big problem I always had with Kontera ads was the response time. I would move my mouse over the double underlined link and then try to highlight some text above it and, right when I clicked, the ad would finally appear.

They might have improved the code since then, but that was always the means by which I clicked on Kontera ads. Ads don’t really bother me much other than this (in fact, I rather like the adverts on youporn ;) ).

I’ve never really been a big fan of Kontera, but on certain sites it does seem to fit in better than on others.
