iREIT.com - An Internet Real Estate Company

By now the parallels between the internet and real estate should be obvious. Domains names are like raw land, and good ones like sex.com can be very valuable even if they aren’t developed. People are even flipping websites for profit. In the offline world large real estate companies are called REITs. The company iREIT.com caught my attention because of their name.
Domaining has become big business. One thing that I enjoy about the website marketplace is that websites really do come in all sizes. You can start small and work your way up the ladder if you are persistent. A company like iREIT.com is not really doing anything fundamentally different than what an individual can accomplish through their own hard work. They create their sites with a much different scale in mind. I think the future is bright for the internet, and as time goes by we’ll start to see more of these “internet real estate” companies cropping up.
I’ll go ahead and coin a term, “webestate.” Thats right you heard it here first.

A search for webestate returns a lot of results (albeit, not used in the same context).
