Continue To Earn Even After Selling Your Website

By Max | June 11, 2007

There may come a time when you wish to sell your website. If your income is coming from several ad networks, there is a chance that your buyer won’t have an existing account with each of them. This is a good opportunity for you to collect some referral bonus money when he sets up an account at each of the new advertisers. Casale Media for example will pay you 5% of the new accounts revenue’s for life. Thats incredible. Suppose you sell your website which was earning $1000/mon through Casale to a new buyer who doesn’t already have an account there. If he signs up under you, you’ll continue to collect $50/mon as long as he has runs Casale ads. What if he picks up some more websites and decides to put Casale on them as well? Cha-ching. You’ll collect 5% from those too, so don’t pass up this opportunity should it ever arise. A lot of ad networks have referral programs you can take advantage of.

Now thats an angle I wouldn’t have seen. I don’t see myself selling one of my sites anytime soon.

    Thanks for the tip.

Also, a little hint that has earned me a few $$’s a month….

When selling domains, setup a Wordpress blog on it and fill it with PLR/Ezine Articles about the assumed topic and add adwords or other affiliate advertising.

Whilst some domain buyers will immediately change name servers, some will not and you will reap the rewards until they do remember about it.

I sold one particular domain about 3 years ago and it’s still pointing to my hosted site and earns about $8 a month….

I had the opportunity but I could never bring myself (ethically) to do this.
