Enabling Kontera Ads
By Max | May 24, 2007
Today I added Kontera ads to my forum, IpodWizard. I have read somewhere that I can expect to earn about 1/3 of what I get from google ads, by implementing Kontera. We’ll see how it goes. I think my site will have a lot of relevant ads since the subject matter deals with ipods.
Some people think these in-text ads are annoying, but I think I like them better than Adsense (depending on how intrusive the placement is) or most CPM banners. Its only annoying if the display box doesn’t disappear quickly when I move the mouse off the keyword.
I’ll keep you posted on the performance.

This is an excellent, non-intrusive way to grow revenue. Now if you can just find something good to replace those auction ads…

So far Auction Ads has exceeded my expectations. They are generating about 50% of what the adjacent adsense block does. The Adsense block is about twice the size, so that works out.
I need to spend some time optimizing my CPM ads and their defaults.
Overall I like Adsense the best of any network I have used. Theres no real application hoops to jump through. They don’t care about your traffic volume. The payout is at least as good as any other network I have used, and the implementation is easier than most networks.

Kontera earned just as much as Adsense for me when I was running it. At the end of the day I just didn’t like it though.
