Odds and Ends

I like this site. It has been around for 11 years and gets a lot of search engine traffic. Unfortunately I don’t know much about the subject matter, families or I would probably make a bid. Note the current owner isn’t including any CPM revenue in his financials.

I have decided that I am going to get a designer to work up a Final Fantasy Wordpress blog theme for me. I want to do this for two reasons.
#1. I am currently using CuteNews which is good and easy to implement in a webpage, but the comment system doesn’t have good spam protection and in general is less supported than Wordpress. So technically Wordpress is better and more full featured.
#2. My plan is to give away the theme to other bloggers in the hopes of generating a lot of backlinks to my site. I have heard various ramblings from other sites that this method can generate some decent backlinks, so I think it is worth a shot. There are a lot of fans of the FF series out there who I think would like to deck their blog out in my Final Fantasy theme. I wish I was a good designer so I could make a couple of these.
I hope to save on the cost of doing this by just having the designer use my current site design, but converted to wordpress. I think that would work well since I have all the psds from the original design.
