Fuckedcompany.com is for sale
By Max | March 31, 2007
Thats right, you can own a piece of internet history. Many of you may remember that when the dotcom boom came crashing down, a little website call FuckedCompany chronicled the events. There were even cases where employees found out they were going to be laid off by reading the website before their own company had told them the news.
For those of you who are interested in purchasing, here is the listing.
Who knows what this website is actually worth. It has a domain name that people know. The problem is that the brand is in decline. This website still breaks the news of companies going under, but the further we get from the dotcom crash the less valuable this site will be. Because of its strong brand presence the owner is almost certainly going to want a premium over a pure revenue/profit standpoint. I just don’t know how large that could be since the brand is becoming less and less valuable.
The ideal purchaser of this website would have access to some inside information to break the layoff news first. This was the power of fuckedcompany in the past, and if it is to recapture its former glory, the new owner will want to try and continue this trend.
One nice thing about this website is that it has been linked to from numerous reputable news sites. Despite this however, it still only has a Page Rank of 6, so you can forget about extremely lucrative link sales.
